Eikenberry Music Studio

Upcoming (Exciting) Changes at Eikenberry Music Studio

The new school year has brought a mix of new and familiar faces to the studio.

Long story short, my teaching schedule is packed.

I've been talking to my wife about how I can best continue to serve my students at convenient times in balance with my own family's needs and schedule.

Here's the exciting part. Drumroll, please....

We're creating a bigger (and completely separate from the rest of the house) studio for lessons!

We'll be converting what is currently our dining room into a dedicated studio, and adding a separate entrance on the side of the house for students/parents to use at lesson time.

There will be new walls with soundproofing, which should hopefully cut down on any toddler tantrums happening elsewhere in the house (and let us rock out in the studio if we want to without bothering my family or the neighbors).

This is going to involve adding walls, making holes in other walls, and other things that I am not allowed to do on my own without adult supervision.

So rather than trying to do this alone (probably poorly...construction trades are not in my skillset) we are getting some help to do the job the right way, much more efficiently than I would ever be able to do on my own.

Work starts Monday, September 22.

Rather than try to teach in an active construction zone, I will be putting lessons on hold for the duration of construction.

The project will be wrapped up by mid-November (and possibly sooner). I'll keep you posted along the way so that we are all on the same page.

Regarding payments, I'll be putting everyone's monthly payments on hold during our down time, and we'll resume whenever construction is finished and we're back to making music.

So your next payment (whether it is September 15 or another date) will not happen as previously scheduled. The next payment will occur on a date to be named later, once construction is finished and we're back to the studio.

Since work won't start for another week after that, I'll still be teaching between now and September 18.

If this presents any challenges with the timing of payments or lessons in the future, just let me know. I get to work with kind and caring families like yours, so I'm sure we can sort out any issues together in a way that makes sense for both of us.

Between now and the (re?)opening of the studio, I'll be reaching out to get your thoughts on the future direction of the studio. I have some ideas, but I'd like to get some feedback on them before making any other changes aside from the location of the studio in the house.

If you have any questions, concerns, or would just like to learn more, I'm happy to talk during your lesson or outside of normal lesson hours if that works better for you.

Thanks for being a part of this journey with me.
